Morigaon District Court Jobs 2024: Morigaon Court was established in the year 1972 as a Sub-Divisional Judicial Court and was upgraded to Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in the year 1989. The foundation stone of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court was laid on 2nd October 1987 by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and it was inaugurated on 30th April 1989 by Hon’ble Justice A Raghubir, Chief Justice Gauhati High Court. Shri F Hussain, B.Sc., LLB was the first Chief Judicial Magistrate of Morigaon Court.
He took over on 2nd May 1990 and served till 24th May 1993. The Court of Munsif No.-1 was established in the year 1972 and the Court of Munsif No.-2 was established in the year 1981. In the year 1992, the District & Sessions Judge Court building was inaugurated by Hon’ble District & Sessions Judge of Nagaon Shri P.C. Borpujari. Hon’ble Justice Shri T.C. Basumatari, M.A. L.L.B. was the first District & Sessions Judge of Morigaon Court.
He joined on 20th April 1992 and served till 9th January 1996. After some years, the need to increase the number of courts was felt and hence additional court building was constructed and it was inaugurated on 21st February 2004 by Hon’ble Justice P.P. Naolekar, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court.
