Educational Qualifications
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): 12th pass (XII) or its equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer typing speed as per DoPT norms (35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi).

Selection Process
- The selection process is based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT), a Descriptive Written Test, a Computer Proficiency Test, Interview and Final Merit List.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): 85 MCQ covering Bengali/Nepali, English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Clerical Aptitude.
- Descriptive Written Test (DWT) & Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): 50 Marks.
- Interview: CBT qualified candiadtes will be called for an interview carrying 15 marks.
- Final Merit List: CBT and interview scores.
Exam Pattern
- The written exam consists of two papers:
- Paper-I (Mental Ability Test): 100 questions, 200 marks
- Paper-II (General Awareness): 50 questions, 150 marks
- Paper-II (English Language): 50 questions, 150 marks
