Sonitpur District Court Jobs 2024: On 14 August 1967, the undivided Darrang District and Sessions Judge Court was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. K. Dutta, the then Chief Justice of Hon’ble Gauhati High Court. Mr. U. N. Rajkhowa was posted as the first District and Sessions Judge of Darrang District. On 31 October 1985, the Darrang District was divided into two parts. One is Sonitpur District and the other is Darrang District. Present Position Regarding Court’s Accommodation Existing Court Building At Tezpur: Presently there are two Court Buildings in Tezpur Sub-Division, one is the New R.C.C. Court Building and the other is the Old Assam-Type Court Building.
The new R.C.C. Court Building was inaugurated by the former Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. K. Goel on 9-2-2013. The new R.C.C. Court Building accommodates the courts and offices of the District and Sessions Judge, the Additional District and Sessions Judge No.1, the Additional District and Sessions Judge No.2, Civil Judge and Assistant Sessions Judge, Munsiff No.1 and Munsiff No.2 respectively. The old Assam-type court Building accommodates the Courts and offices of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (S), and other Judicial Magistrates. In addition, the Old Court Building has one Medical Clinic and one Conference room.
